Coronary CT Angiogram

The Coronary CT Angiogram is a revolutionary non-invasive way of evaluating the coronary arteries.

Since the heart is a rapidly moving structure, MDI use the latest 64-slice CT scanners to produce up to 194 slices per second, enabling images to be produced that catch the heart "in between" beats.

Furthermore the high number of slices means higher resolution which means more accurate images and the speed of the scans (usually 5-13 seconds) means less patient inconvenience.

The CT Scanner is able to visualise blood flow in the coronary arteries and detect the presence of any fatty or calcium deposits that have built up in the coronary arteries.

CTA also helps to provide additional information about plaque sitting in the artery wall, whether soft, calcified, smooth or ulcerated. It also offers more detailed images of the heart anatomy, resulting in faster, more accurate diagnosis and better treatment planning.
